Igor Fineman
Igor Fineman, M.D. is a board-certified neurosurgeon. Dr. Fineman is the Director of the Movement Disorders Program and Functional and Stereotactic Neurosurgery at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, CA. He is also the Neurosurgical Director of the Pasadena CyberKnife in Pasadena, CA, Visiting Associate at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, CA, and faculty member at the City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, CA. Dr. Fineman received his undergraduate degree in Bioengineering from the UCLA School of Engineering and Applied Science. After receiving his M.D. with Thesis degree form the UCLA School of Medicine, Dr. Fineman completed a Neurosurgical Residency at the UCLA Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in Functional and Stereotactic Neurosurgery and Radiosurgery. Dr. Fineman is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, American Association for Functional and Stereotactic Neurosurgery and Society for Neuroscience. Dr. Fineman’s clincal expertise is in stereotactic neurosurgery and surgical treatment of movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, and dystonia; treatment of benign and malignant tumors of the central nervous system with radiosurgical and open surgical techniques; and treatment of degenerative conditions and tumors of the spine and spinal cord . His research interests have been focused on traumatic brain injury and plasticity following injury, as well as the development of a cortical neural prosthesis to bypass the injured CNS, presently in progress at Caltech.
